ABOUT NCC

The National Cadets Corps is Military educational training programme Under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The NCC came into existence on 16th July, 1948 under the NCC Act XXXVI of 1948.

J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana had also taken an initiative to promote National Cadets Corps (NCC) in the University with the support of 01 Haryana Naval unit, Faridabad in 2018.

Centre for NCC at J.C. Bose University provides opportunities to its students to learn and turn into good military acknowledged cadets. Subsequently, providing a strong platform for serving the nation as Military officer.

The NCC (Naval Wing) started at university in July 2018 under 01 Haryana Naval NCC Unit, Faridabad while NCC (Army Wing) started in University from July 2022 under 5 Haryana Battallion NCC, Gurugram. The maximum authorised vacancy in Naval and Army are 50 and 80 respectively. This opportunity is available for both i.e. Boy and Girl students admitted in 1st year of Under-Graduate regular programs (Minimum 03 year duration) only. The selections of cadets are strictly supervised by the NCC Unit/Battallion.

Cadets in NCC are taught and trained about Indian Defence Services (Naval & Army). The technical, administration and social approaches are touched during the 3 years course. Every year cadets are required to undergo Annual Training Camp and several activities organised by unit. Cadets are also required to participate in several University activities as ordered by NCC Incharge, ANO's and CTO's.

The cadets are taught and trained in order to clear B and C certificate exams conducted by NCC Headquarters.  A Cadet having “C” certificate gets advantages at various level in admission and/or recruitment at different states of India. As a mandate of NEP-2020, NCC is now become part of University curriculam also and is offered as General Elective Subject (theory and practical) to enrolled cadets only. The cadets will be taught this elective subject in 06 modules/courses i.e one module/course per semester during their UG program under Centre for NCC. University will conduct examination for these courses at the end of every semester and credits earned by cadets will reflect in DMC/degree.
