J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad in collaboration with CEERI Pilani has been organizing a six-day outreach TEQIP sponsored Workshop on ‘Hands-on Training of IoT modules’.
The Workshop is being conducted by the Department of Electronics Engineering and Department of Computer Engineering and attended by 50 participants, including scholars and faculty members.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar and Dr. Kota Solemon Raju, Senior Principal Scientist from CEERI Pilani was present as the keynote speaker in the inaugural session.
Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg, Chairperson of Department of Computer Applications Dr. Atul Mishra, Chairperson of Department of Electronics Engineering Dr. Neelam Turk, TEQIP Coordinator Dr. Munish Vashishtha and other senior officials were also present on this occasion.
The objective of the workshop is to impart knowledge about the real-time applications of IoT among students and faculty members. In his keynote address, Dr. Kota Solemon Raju discussed the various areas of IoT analytics application and also mentioned how effectively the technology can be used in areas like health monitoring systems, smart homes, and smart cities.
Speaking on this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that as the current technology is moving towards IoT, there is a need to get conversant with this advanced technology for faculty and students. Underlining the importance of learning by doing, designing, experimenting and finding solutions to contemporary problems, he urged students to focus on multidisciplinary applications and new technologies such as Robotics, Internet of Things, Big-Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
Chairperson of Electronics Engineering Department Dr. Neelam Turk said that the workshop would provide the impetus for its participants to observe, assimilate and learn from many inspiring sessions in the IoT sector. It would also prove to be a unique opportunity for students to have hands-on training in IoT modules.
The resource persons from CEERI Pilani Dr. Gaurav Purohit and Dr. Parmod Tanwar, Both Scientists were also present on this occasion.
