2021-22 Professional Development Program 2021

The COURSE was held during 28th Junest-3rd July, 2021. Prof. S. P. Bansal, Vice-Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur was the respected chief guest of the inaugural session of this event. Faculty members of different renowned institutes were the resource persons for the event. A brief summary of the course is as following: The first session of the “Professional Development Program 2021” was taken by Prof. Sandeep Grover, on the Topic “National Education Policy (NEP-2021)”. Dr. Grover explained in detail principles of policy, what is the need of nep and key features of nep with this he explained NEP 2021specially for Higher Educational Institutions. 2nd session of the Day 1 was taken by Prof. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal Aggarwal College, Ballabhgarh on the topic “Teacher as Mentor”. The session was very motivational and Professor Gupta explained importance of mentor/teacher in our life. He explained the difference between Shikshak, Adhyapak, Aacharya and Guru. He also mentioned that how Chankya changed the life of Chander Gupt Morya. 2nd day In the first session, Prof S.K. BEDI retd prof. From mdu rohtak, told that Teaching is most important profession of the world. Leadership plays an important role, to bridge the gap between Academia and Industry. He motivated all the new faculty members not to wait for any opportunity rather one should create a leadership role for himself and proactively volunteer for opportunities. In the next session, Prof Atul Mishra, and Mr Aditya Ganwar, delivered an informative session on e content development and explained various open source tools for editing audio and video contents to the participants. In the last session of day 2,Dr Krishan Verma briefed about Mentor Mentee Activity Booklet being maintained by each faculty member in the university. In the first session of day 3rd, Dr.Sreejesh, Assistant prof. IIM Khozikode, delivered a talk on art of doing academic research and publication. He told The most important benchmark for quality in academia is the quality of publication and also gave wonderful tips to write a quality research paper . In the next session Prof Komal bhatia gave a lecture on digital learning. He told that with the help of digital learning we are able to access learning materials online any time, and with advanced tools like lab simulations we can even carry out science experiments from the comfort of your own home. IN THE LAST SESSION OF DAY 3RD, Dr Neelam Duhan told about digital learning platforms and DLMS. She explained about the ICT infrastructure in our univerity. She described all the features of DLMS and also discussed about MOOC . ON DAY 4, IN FIRST SESSION ,Prof.RupinderSingh fronm NITTTR CHANDIGARH, explained in details the protection of our own work in academics via the filling of patent and claiming the copyright. IN NEXT SESSION, Dr. P.N. Bajpai, WITH his team with Mr. Mohit Sharma and Ms. BhawnaGoswami, gave a live demo on the topic “Accessing E-Library &other resources. They also explained the services and facilities available on the library portal. On 5th day , in first session ,Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal talked about an important component of a healthy life that i.e managing stress. He explained the various pathways to the participants with different activities, which can be performed in day-to-day life, for relieving stress. Dr. Priya Narayanan, assistant adviser NAAC, GAVE A TALK on the topic “Quality enhancement through NAAC accreditation”. She explained in details the requirement of NAAC accreditation and the features involved in the accreditation. Last lecture of this pdp was delivered by Prof Yogesh ), CIT, Bangalore on the topic ethics and values. HE discusses about the role and responsibility of teachers Overall all the resource persons were really have expertise in their respective filed and also they conveyed it to the participants in a very effictive way. ALL THE TALKS was highly informative and encouraging for the participants to move towards excellence.
