Report on One Day Seminar “Applications of Mathematics” (29th March 2022)
A one-day seminar on “Applications of Mathematics”, sponsored by the Haryana State Council for Science Innovation & Technology (HSCSIT), was organized by the Department of Mathematics of J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad on 29th March 2022. Prof. Neetu Gupta was the convener and Dr. Reena Garg was the coordinator of this event. More than 250 participants have attended the event.
Prof. B. S. Rajput, former Vice-Chancellor of Kumaun University was the chief guest and keynote speaker in the seminar. Addressing the session, Prof. Rajput detailed about the work and achievements of ancient Indian thinkers and philosophers in the fields of Mathematics. Prof. Sujit Bose, former Professor, Calcutta University delivered a talk on 'Evolution of Mathematics with an illustration of Data Transmission on globe'.
In the second lecture of the day, Prof. L.R. Vermani, former Professor, Kurukshetra University, delivered a lecture on 'Backtracking and N-Queens Problem'.
The seminar ended by distributing certificates to the organising committee members and a vote of thanks.
