2022-23 Expert talk on Data Complexity by austrian Prof. Mialn Stehilk

The Department of Mathematics of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad today organized an expert talk on Complexity in Data and Transfer Functions. The expert lecture was delivered by Prof. Milan Stehilk from Johannes Kepler University, Linz Austria. Prof. Stehilk also visited the Science Block of the University, and appreciated the facilities being provided by the University to the students. Prof. D. S Hooda, Honorary Professor in GJUST, Hisar was Chief Guest in the session. The session was presided over by Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg and Chairperson of the Department Dr. Neetu Gupta. The event was started by lamp lightning by all the dignitaries, followed by Saraswati Vandana and Kulgeet of the University. Registrar Dr. Garg welcomed the invited speakers. Addressing the session, Prof. Hooda reminded students about old habits of reading and learning Mathematics by solving problems. He asked studnets to maintain discipline and said if you students want to be an expert in their field, they should do something in practical in order to achieve it rather than just hearing out aur reading theories. He elaborated the importance of discipline in a student's life and told them that it is of two types; self and imposed discipline. He prefers self discipline and said, "Mathematics teaches you self discipline". In his expert lecture, Prof. Stehilk described different kind of transfer functions and its uses in Probability, Statistics, Biomathematics, Physics and Engineering. He also explained the publishing policy of Taylor and Francis. He first of all, thanked the department and all the faculties for inviting him for such great session. While addressing the students he quoted that Data Transformation can be applied in every field of Science, be it Physics, Chemistry or any other subject. Talking over Data Complexity; he said that time evolution of dependence structures and aggregation functions transfer functions, topographical data analysis for cancer discrimination. Also he further talked about aggregation and defined many many topics related to Data Complexity and Transfer Functions. Further, a qna session between the audience and the expert was organised to clear the doubts of the students. Later, all the experts were welcomed and honoured with the token of regards.
