I am extremely privileged to lead the department of Physics which is doing great effort in the field of education and research. We continuously upgrade the benchmark through the latest teaching methodology, exploration of new research avenues to cope with ever-changing education scenario. The aim of the department is to impart the students a sound knowledge of physics with exposure to practical knowledge through laboratories. I am overwhelmed by the team of hard-working staff and highly qualified faculty members who have made me proud by making the department of Physics excellent in different fields. Faculty members are enriched with quality teaching experience backed by excellent research in different fields. Our objective is to impart education, combined with innovative thinking, application of knowledge, inculcating professional ethics and consciousness to social responsibilities in the integrated form. The motive of the department is to make a strong foundation on a wide base of knowledge, which includes the elements of a professional, subjective, practical and spiritual base. The department of Physics is offering B.Sc.(Hons.) Physics, M.Sc. Physics, and Ph.D. courses. I am confident that with the great efforts of different teams of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, the university will scale to greater heights of excellence in the years to come.
