SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2025
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, successfully conducted the Smart India Hackathon 2025 – Internal Round on September 18, 2025 under the esteemed guidance of President IIC Dr. Rashmi Agarwal, along with dedicated support from Faculty Coordinators Dr. Payal Gulati (Associate Professor CE) and Dr. Sonam Khera (Assistant Professor EE).
The event witnessed participation from 432 students across 72 teams, with external judges Mrs. Saloni Kaul, Founder CEO It’s People & President FMA and Mr. Neeraj Sarup Sharma, Sr. Technology manager (Principal Engineer),Nagarro Software Ltd. ensuring fair evaluation. After rigorous screening, 35 teams were shortlisted for National level SIH 2025.The event was a resounding success, celebrating innovation, creativity, and problem-solving spirit among young minds.
Out of the 35 teams shortlisted for the national level of Smart India Hackathon
2025, two exceptional teams—Team Caffeine Overflow and Team Aura
Farmers—advanced to the prestigious Grand Finale round, marking a significant
achievement for the institution. Their selection reflected the technical depth,
innovation, and practical relevance of the solutions proposed during the
internal and national screening stages.
The Grand Finale of Smart
India Hackathon 2025 was hosted at IIT Dhanbad, where teams from across the
country competed under various problem statements. Representing the university
with distinction, Team Caffeine Overflow emerged as the Grand Finale Winner,
securing top honors under the Smart Education Problem Statement 25028: “Smart
Classroom & Timetable Scheduler.” The winning solution showcased an
intelligent, scalable, and user-centric approach to optimizing classroom
management and academic scheduling through technology.
This remarkable accomplishment highlights the strong innovation ecosystem fostered by the Institution’s Innovation Council and underscores the university’s commitment to nurturing problem-solvers equipped to address real-world challenges. The success of the teams stands as a proud moment for JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, and serves as an inspiration for future innovators to actively engage in national-level innovation platforms.
IDEA SHOWCASE AND DEMO DAY 2025
Institution’s Innovation
Council (IIC), hosted the Idea Showcase and Demo Day on 13th November 2025,
offering student innovators an opportunity to present their creative projects
and prototypes to a distinguished judging panel. The program was conducted under
the guidance of President IIC, Dr. Rashmi Agarwal, with coordinated efforts
from Faculty Coordinators Dr. Nimisha and Dr. Sakshi.
The showcase featured 20 participating teams, each putting forward solutions addressing practical societal and technological problems. After careful review by the judges, Aura Farmers earned the First Prize of ₹11,000, while Caffeine Overflow secured the Second Prize of ₹8,000. Aarogya Catalyst received the Third Prize of ₹5,000, and Unimob along with Krishi Mitra were honored with Consolation Prizes of ₹3,000 each for their noteworthy contributions.
A formal Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized on 26th November, during which the winners were felicitated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajive Gulati. The event stood as a testament to the innovative spirit and problem-solving enthusiasm of the university’s students, highlighting the institution’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent.
