About Department
The Department of Computer Engineering has always been a nursery of computer engineers, catering to the needs of the industry of the nation in general and the NCR region in particular. In 2002, the department consciously started a postgraduate programme in Computer Engineering with a vision to produce conceptually sound teachers. It is a matter of pride that many faculty members of surrounding engineering colleges are alumni of YMCAUST.
In recent times, the world has become amazingly fast and fiercely competitive in all spheres of human activity. This situation has called for massive expansion of career-focused education, particularly in emerging areas of Information Technology. The hallmark of the department is research. The department has 25 Ph.D. faculty members, while the remaining faculty members are putting their best efforts into exploring new and emerging areas of research.
The department has a strong group of research aspirants working in the field of Internet Technologies. Another group is effectively engaged in Software Engineering and MANETs. The faculty members of the department make consistent efforts to shape the character of students by inculcating sincerity, punctuality, honesty and hard work. These values play a pivotal role in their prosperous future and in making them valuable citizens of the country.

To enable students to acquire global competence through problem-solving skills and exposure to the latest developments in IT-related technologies. To educate students about their professional and ethical responsibilities. To ensure continuous interaction with industry and academia through collaborative research projects.
Vision
The department aims to establish itself at both national and international levels by producing high-quality, ethically rich computer engineers who are conversant with state-of-the-art technology and possess the ability to adapt to upcoming technologies. The department endeavours to cater to ever-changing industrial demands and societal needs, and to establish itself as a centre of excellence by contributing to research areas having significant IT impact on people’s lives and the nation’s growth.
