J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology (earlier Y.M.C.A. University of Science & Technology) has spread its legacy of knowledge, values, wisdom and excellence in varied disciplines within the country and across the globe. Over the years, it has grown to become India’s leading university that attracts the best and brightest students. Department of Environmental Sciences came into existence in the year 2018. We are driven by the desire to help students attain the highest level of professional educational excellence. Here we believe in the diversity of education in a free environment, create state-of-the-art knowledge, and pass it on to the next generation. Our department is running with zeal to create awareness among the people and to work towards achieving healthy and green environment. Students from all walks of life, different backgrounds and experiences form the part of cultural diversity.

At present the department is offering post-graduate program and Ph.D. program in Environmental Science. It is also supports the other Engineering departments as well as Humanities department of the University by teaching mandatory Environmental Sciences course at graduate level. Through our postgraduate and doctoral programmes, we ensure our students receive a multidisciplinary education that prepares them to face the upcoming world with confidence. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, the curriculum stresses on developing analytical skills, communication skills, problem solving and team work abilities. Our goal is to contribute to the sustainable and peaceful development by organizing educational activities, together with the faculty and students. Our innovative curriculum is designed to solve today’s most challenging environmental problems. Here education is not limited to the classroom. Our students receive a robust education and experience, which includes inter-professional, innovative learning opportunities, as well as the chance to go beyond the classroom with industrial and real-world exposure through industrial training in fourth semester.
