About

Central Instrumentation Laboratory (CIL) is a specialised, shared-resource laboratory of the University, which offers high-end analytical and characterisation equipment used across multiple scientific disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, materials, environmental science, and engineering.

MISSION

The CIL was established to support advanced research and provide “characterisation techniques for futuristic advanced research in various fields.” Its goal is to serve as a central hub for high-end instrumentation, enabling researchers, faculty, and students from different departments to access state-of-the-art equipment without each department needing its own full set.

VISION

  • Enables advanced research and characterisation in materials science, chemistry, physics, and perhaps interdisciplinary work combining sciences/engineering.
  • Offers cost-effective access: rather than buying expensive instruments department-wise, CIL shares the resources.
  • Promotes collaboration across departments and helps newer faculty to start research without a heavy upfront investment.
