This unique initiative has been designed to provide deserving research scholars with an opportunity to earn financial assistance while acquiring hands-on expertise in the operation and management of state-of-the-art scientific instruments housed in the Central Research Facility. Through structured training and practical exposure, the scheme aims to develop highly skilled researchers capable of supporting advanced research and laboratory operations.

About the Scheme

The Central Research Facility (CRF) houses advanced scientific instrumentation that supports multidisciplinary research activities of the University as well as external academic institutions, research organizations, and industries.

The Earn While Learn Fellowship Scheme (EWLFS) has been introduced to strengthen the University's research infrastructure while providing financial assistance, technical training, and professional skill development to Ph.D. scholars.

Selected fellows will receive structured training in:

• Operation of sophisticated analytical instruments
• Instrument scheduling and laboratory coordination
• Preventive maintenance and routine upkeep
• Laboratory documentation and record management
• User assistance and technical support
• Laboratory safety and responsible research practices

Objectives

The Earn While Learn Fellowship Scheme aims to:

6.    Strengthen interaction among research scholars, faculty members, and external users of the Central Research Facility.

7.    Improve employability through practical experience in scientific instrumentation, laboratory management, and research support services.

Who Can Apply?

The scheme is intended for eligible Ph.D. research scholars of J C Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA.
