Dr. Bhawna Uttam joined the department in 2021. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. Chemistry (Honors) from Miranda House, University of Delhi, in 2013, followed by a Master's degree M.Sc. Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) in 2015. Dr. Uttam completed her Ph.D. in Supramolecular Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) (2015- 2020), under the supervision of Prof. C.P. Rao. After her doctoral work, she joined IIT Gandhinagar as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Prof. Sudipta Basu (2020-2021). Since joining the University, Dr. Uttam has been awarded prestigious grants, including the SERB POWER Grant of Rs. 23 lakh (Principal Investigator) and the DST-Haryana Grant of Rs. 18 lakh (Co-Principal Investigator). Research Interests: • The design and development of supramolecular materials, exploring their potential as drug delivery vehicles and promising candidates for Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) and Photothermal Therapy (PTT) in cancer treatment. • Development of various Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) for applications in organic transformations and the removal of pollutants.
